Cloud paper lesson

This basic paper serves to be the background for many of the elements and kits I am going to design. There will be a link here when the papers are available.

I am making them 8.5x 11" inches. There will be tutorials and patterns that you can use the papers for. I will put a mailing list on the side if you would like to receive an e-mail when the kits are available.

These papers are based on digital scrapbook design classes I am taking.

Paper clip lesson and digital freebie

This was a fun lesson. At some point I would like to make this available as a kit or part of a kit and give examples on how to use these in digital scrap-booking and in other projects.

UPDATE: This kit is now available for download. The paper-clips are large, but easily re-sized. The file format is PNG and PSD. They can be downloaded HERE. Please share the link inside with your friends. It will save you e-mailing large files and it will lead them here so that they can easily get the file.

Please leave comments or links below so I can see what you do with the files.

Palette Plans

For my scrapbook design class one assignment is to choose colors for your kits, and assignments. I always feel so dis-loyal when I choose, because I love them all! So I decided to use the Pantone spring 2013 colors. Basically I let someone else pick ; ) I probably won't adhere strictly to this chart but I will have brights and pastels. I also plan to warm these colors up a little.

I thought what if I used a color that I am not too fond of, well that won't happen so I chose one that I don't use as often : gold also known as lemon zest or honey gold!

These are coming soon in a kit!

Class Freebie "Bright Textures"

This is my first assignment for my digital scrapbook designer class . The lessons are fun and I am learning a lot. I hope to offer tutorials and projects to go with these papers.

The kit contains 5 8.5 x11 papers in the colors shown. Printing them on white textured cardstock really highlights the color and pattern. Printing it on colored cardstock also produces a nice effect and doubles the amount of papers you have.
Download your copy here.
(if you have friends who would enjoy these papers please share the link inside the download file so they can visit my blog for more downloads, and so I can see directly what downloads people like to help me create better products.)

What I am reading:

I have just ordered Sketchnotes by Mike Rohde. Here are my people (she says excitedly) This is how I take notes and write in my journal (using more color, because that's just me). The book is about taking notes using pictures and words in real time. Using what I have observed, I made a few attempts to "sketchnote" Quinitles and Bi-Quintiles with the middle drawing being a practice at diagraming the process as I currently understand it. I like writing on lined paper or paper with some kind of background pattern that I can ignore. I am excited by the potential of ideas that may spill over into my designing.

I am learning to create digital kits. Its fun but I have so much to learn!
I am taking classes at Hummie's World.
I am using the lesson to make a sample kit as a way to "sketch" ideas for kits.

I will be offering paper and element kits and tutorials to create projects with them.
